Mission Statement

The Purpose of the Association Shall Be:
1. To promote the highest standards of professional practice in mortgage brokering ethics.
2. To promote and enhance the image of the mortgage brokerage profession throughout the State of South Carolina.
3. To foster a broader understanding and acceptance of professional mortgage brokering as a source of real estate related financing.
4. To promote common business interest of those engaged in the mortgage brokerage industry.
5. To promote harmonious business relationships among its members.
6. To provide a forum for the effective exchange of mortgage brokering knowledge, trends, ideas and innovations.
7. To promote a cooperative liaison with other related professional groups.
8. To protect the mortgage brokerage industry and public through legislative actions.
9. To do any and all things that are lawful and appropriate in the furtherance in these purposes

Lending Integrity is our Standard

As an active member of SCMBA we are also an active member of NAMB, the National Association of Mortgage Brokers.  With dual membership also come the responsibility of adhearing not only to SCMBA Bylaws and Best Lending Practices but also the National Bylaws and Best Lending Practices. 

 NAMB has been diligently at work on the LENDING INTEGRITY SEAL program to honor our Brokers and Loan Originators who adhear to the highest of standards and ethics.     As part of the requirements to earn this seal, a Broker or Loan Originator must pledge to uphold the standards set forth by SCMBA and NAMB.
